*UPDATE* London Marathon Club Ballot 🎟️🏃‍♂️‍➡️🏃‍♀️‍➡️💜⚡

13 Nov by David McCarthy ⚡️

Good morning everyone,

It’s the email that we have been patiently waiting for……But unfortunately not the news we had hoped for.

We have been allocated our 1 London Marathon space. We have the membership size for 2 now, but with TCS/EA moving the goalpost yet again to the 31st July, we were just a few members short at that time. Apologies for raising expectations. If it were the same dates as last year we would have been fine for 2.

In short then, 1 lucky person could be in the chance of snapping the Storm Golden Ticket.

If you would like to run this event but have unfortunately been rejected from the official
London Marathon ballot, you still have one chance to win our golden ticket to one of the
biggest races in the world.

Our eligible members can apply for the club’s given place subject to club rules.
The draw will take place at our Runner of The Month club evening on 27th November.
All eligible members will be given a unique number, which will then be drawn from a sealed
container. The lucky winner will be revealed, and all remaining numbers will be checked
against original entries immediately after. Results of the ballot will be communicated on our
App News page as well as our Facebook page that evening.

The following Criteria must be met for you to apply for Storm’s London Marathon place
for 2026.
1. Eligible applicants will need to have been an England Athletics affiliated member for
the past two years. They will currently be affiliated with the club and were affiliated
in 2024-25 also.
2. Applicants must not have been the successful recipient of a Storm Club Ballot Place
in the past.
3. Applicants must not have taken part in the London Marathon in the past 2 years
either Charity or own Ballot place.

- Participation in Club Runs either morning or evening
- Participation in Circuits or Coaching Sessions
- Leading, Coaching or Buddying

- ROM Attendance’s

These attendances must be logged on a sheet and all need to be within the period from 1st
April 2025 to 1st November 2025. That gives 7 months of the year to tally up the 30
required.

The following rules will apply to all who enter….
1. Your entry to the club London Marathon ballot will be confirmed on receipt of your
official marathon reject slip & the list of your 30 completed attendances.
To apply for a place, you must either pass or send your supporting evidence to our
membership secretary (Clare Collings) stormmembership@gmail.com ,
the last day to submit your evidence will be midnight on the 24th November. The draw will take place as previously mentioned at ROM on Thursday 27th November.
2. Any person who is successful with winning a Club entry place is EXCLUDED from entering
the London Marathon draw in the future.
3. Runners receiving the Club entry place are not permitted to pass their number to any
other person.
4. There will be no reserve as the London Marathon do not offer this option.
5. The recipient of a club place must wear the club colours when competing in the
Marathon.
6. There is no expectation for the successful winner of the ballot to raise money for charity.
7. The Committee reserves the right to delay the draw or change the rules in extreme
circumstances. For example: If marathon cancelled or due to personal, unavoidable or
unexpected circumstances.

The full rules and a template to use to fill out your attendances can be found in the documents section in the app right at the very top as they have just been updated and uploaded.
