Tonight the shortlist was posted for tomorrow evenings ROM. What a month itβs been for all Storm runners. I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for taking the time to nominate your fellow runners this month. We have had a staggering response this month and itβs probably been a record in terms of nominations cast and the amount of different runners whoβve been mentioned. ππ»
This month, the list is full of well deserving people whoβve had all sorts of achievements with their running. From smashing their first ever race to achieving Marathon 1% club status. All sorts of goals reached and running barriers broken down. πͺπ»
As club chair, itβs been amazing to see so many people enjoying their running. π
Club night numbers are thriving and our numbers at events have been really impressive β especially Ivybridge the other week!! Itβs great to see a real resurgence of Stormies at the local races. Iβm pleased youβre all finding the confidence to go and take part in such events and represent this great club. The purple army has been out in force throughout 2025! πππ
For our newer members who may not know quite how this works, we ask all members to send in a nomination for someone they believe deserves an award at the monthly recognition evening. The person with the most nominations from the club members will win Runner Of The Month. On the night, Our club committee will also select a special recognition award winner. This will often go to someone who may have flown under the radar a little, or maybe just didnβt get enough votes to win the main award. We also have a Captains award selected by club captains Mick & Julie.
If you havenβt made the list this month donβt despair. Your story just hasnβt reached others yet thatβs all. We are proud of every single runner that runs in purple and I wanted to make sure I said a huge well done to all who have been out there working at your goals in the past month or so. Keep up the good work and you never know, your name may feature in the list next month! ππ»ββοΈππΌββοΈ
I wonβt be there at ROM tomorrow so good luck to all on the list and I hope you all have a great club night in the capable hands of our club committee. π
Lastly, Good luck to all running the Muskie Madness on Saturday afternoon. I have been in contact with our neighbours this week and they have sent heartfelt thanks to Storm runners for getting involved in their run. We are currently leading the way with entries at 22. Entries close tomorrow online but you can enter on the day!! ππ©΅π
