So recent weeks has seen many of our runners take on some big events such as London, Manchester and various other Marathons. The training has paid off for all who have managed it, and their victory laps and memories are now in the bag for life! 🙌🏻🏅

Last week, the month of May kicked off with a huge Sunday as so many of you were over at the Saltash 5k and Half Marathon. The day was warm and the heat certainly had an effect but we still had Storm Runners picking up all sorts of awards on the day – well done all 👏🏻💪🏻💜⚡️🏆

What’s next…..Well it’s only the 𝗣𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 this weekend innit! The biggest event we take part in as a team and I can’t wait to see the streets turn purple on the Sunday!! I’m sure we’ll have plenty taking part in each event and it promises to be another fantastic day out with the crew. That moment on the embankment, when you see and hear the stormies shouting and cheering eachother on, is always special and matched by no other club 🙌🏻💜⚡️

It’s going to be warm again, so be sure to keep that hydration 💦 up throughout the weekend and don’t forget those carbs on Saturday evening 🍝 to fuel you up 💪🏻.

Timing’s for the events are as follows….

Plymouth Half Start – 9:15
Plymouth 10K Start – 9:30
Plymouth 5K Start – 9:50

📸 – With these timings set out, we will look to have our team photo at 9am near the lighthouse, as we have done in previous years! I understand you won’t want to be there too early, but we really want as many Stormies present as possible in the team pic so please make it for this time. Photo will be prompt at this time to allow half runners plenty of time to get into their start pen.📸🙏🏻

🏰 We will have the Purple Palace available for our own Storm Bag Drop and this usually makes things a lot easier for our members. Feel free to leave your bags on here whilst you are running your event and we will have it zipped up and manned the entire time. Has to be said tho this is still at your own risk and we can’t be held accountable. The palace will be situated on the final corner of the route just before you run up onto the promenade for that final sprint! It’ll be up from about 8am onwards – thanks in advance to the volunteers who will be setting it up! The flags will also be there so you really won’t be able to miss it!!

At storm we make sure no one gets left behind whatsoever. When you finish your event please get swiftly back along to the final corner and cheer your fellow Stormies in. It’s the thing that sets storm apart from the rest for me and what we have become famous for doing over the years. That support for each and every runner. We stay until the very end, unless you have things on of course, and please do not feel any guilt if you do have to shoot off. 👌🏻🙌🏻💪🏻💜⚡️
