Good afternoon team.
Just wanted to give you a heads up on this years Armada Grand Prix.

For those who aren’t aware, Storm is part of a running club network in Plymouth and surrounding area’s called the Armada Athletics Network, who work to stage and support each other’s events and boost the running community as best we can.

The armada Grand Prix is basically a series of local races all staged by local clubs. There are 11 races in total and we try to encourage as much participation as we can. If you manage to do 7 out of 11 of these events, no matter how you score on the points, you will be guaranteed a little prize at the end. We had around 10 Stormies complete the set in 2024 and all received an award. There are of course a few rules, see the bottom of the post. 1. ARMADA 5K – WED 9th April
2. SALTASH HALF MARATHON – SUN 4th May
3. IVYBRIDGE 10K – SAT 17th May
4. MUSKIES MADNESS – SAT 31st May
5. TAVY 5K – SAT 21st JUNE
6. ERME VALLEY RELAYS – FRI 27th June
7. MAGNIFICENT 7 – SUN 6th July
8. PLYMOUTH HARRIERS 5 MILE RACE – SAT 12th July
9. ARMADA 5K – WED 13th August
10. STORM RACE – SUNDAY 14th SEPTEMBER (points for volunteering)
11. TAVY 7 – SUN 26th October

Format and Rules.
1. Only open to paid up members. Each participating club needs to pay their annual subs
2. The qualifying races are listed below. First race will be the Armada 5K in April and the last race the Tavy 7.
3. Every athlete from a participating club will receive a points allocation with the first athlete
receiving 500 points.
4. All individual participants who complete 7 of the 11 events in the Grand Prix will get an end of
season award. All events score but a nominal 100 points to given to anyone helping at an Armada or their own club race provided we are given the name within 3 days of the event.
5. If prize funds allow we will give an award to the highest points scorer from each club based on the best 7 races.
6. The Armada committee will be the arbitrator of any disputes.
