29 Feb by David McCarthy πŸ’œ

Good evening everyone. Please see below a brief overview of the club Annual General Meeting and Runner Of The Month night.

First of all there was an overview of the year we have had. I couldn’t possibly list all the highlights on here but if you wish to read further the minutes will be published on the app soon.

Each committee member then gave an overview of each of their roles and the year that they have had in the role. Notably, Finances are looking healthy since we went back to encouraging payment on the night. Membership is fantastic – currently standing at 206 affiliated members with more and more joining each week. Great to see plenty of new and returning faces recently.

πŸ’œ For me one of the most notable parts of the AGM was when Bee gave us a summary of all the community initiatives we have supported in the past 12 months. The list of each month’s effort was absolutely outstanding and a real credit to each and every one of you that has contributed. Every single month we have made a huge difference to peoples lives and I am so very proud of how generous you have all been!!

πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ’ΌπŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸ’Ό Next subject was the committee. We explained how we had found the AGM minutes for 2018 where it was voted in by the club members that the committee should stand for a two year term. Therefore it’s been decided that the committee stays as is until the end of February 2025. We apologised for the recent confusion but will make sure the club constitution is fully updated so this mistake will not happen again.

We would like to thank you all for your support during our time and say that we remain fully committed to driving the club forward for another year. πŸ’œβš‘οΈ

Personal thanks from me for all the support and kind words over the last year. I love leading it, love the club and its members. Looking forward to the next 12 months!! πŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸ»

πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€βœˆοΈCaptain Dave gave a thorough run through of upcoming races and different events that we can look at getting involved in. See his update for more info.

πŸπŸ’œ We gave a quick brief on the potential Storm Race. A few of our members have been working hard in the background to try and get a club race off the ground. Most of the permissions are sorted we are just awaiting final sign off to go ahead. The race HQ will be our home from home the woodland fort and the race will take in a route featuring the woods and roads behind. The name of the race will be β€œStorm The Fort 10k” and the proposed date will be 15th September 2024. Get the date in your diary as we will need all hands on deck to help out on the day and in the build up and will post accordingly when required. We will look at putting on an event following for all the stormies that helped out on the day to take part and earn some Storm bling!! πŸ’œπŸ…

Lastly, we had our Runner of the month award presented to a very deserving Rebecca who just pipped Andrea and Tina to take the award for February. πŸ†

Thanks again to all that stayed behind and made the evening worthwhile. We really appreciate it! πŸ’œβš‘οΈ

Minutes for the AGM will be added to the documents page in due course.

Have a lovely weekend team

Regards
Dave Mac
