Good morning team. Yesterday the committee voted to not schedule the week between Christmas as we would like to give all of our legendary volunteers the chance for a well earned rest over the festive season.

Our last club night before we break up for Christmas is going to be at Woodland Fort for ROM on the 20th December next week. On this night we would like to offer you all a free post run drink on the club as a thank you for all of your support during another fantastic year. No doubt there will be a few nibbles too. The evening will be Xmas themed fancy dress for those that would like to dress up for the occasion but if not feel free to turn up in normal running attire.
As well as crowning Decemberโ€™s runner of the month we will also conduct the live โ€œblind pairingโ€ draw. Blind pairings were a huge hit during the Covid days when the world was slowly coming out of lockdown and we didnโ€™t have the chance to meet as a club. It brought people together that often hadnโ€™t ran with each other before. We put the names in a hat and the two people who are drawn together will then organise their own run during the festive period. I must state that this is purely social and the runs are always conducted at a pace and distance that suits both runnerโ€™s. There is nothing to say it even needs to be a run. We will be encouraging the use of the Facebook support network for postโ€™s and cannot wait to see them popping up over that week. Itโ€™s going to be very special indeed. If you would like to add your name to the draw on the night please comment below or message me before the 20th.

On top of this we have two special dates with our Circuits and Condition fit crewโ€™s coming up. Saturday 16th for Circuits and Tuesday 19th for Condition Fit. Sign up on the app for both and Christmas wear is strongly encouraged at both ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿผ๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿปโ€๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

We will be back to normal in the new year from Wednesday 3rd January and Full week schedules begin again on the 8th Jan.

There are a couple of races very early on in the year that we often have plenty of Stormies involved in. Sunday 7th January we have the Exeter First Chance 10k and the week after there is the January Jaunt 10k nice and local to us. These are two great runs to benchmark your running going forward and to give you something to aim for straight after Christmas. Always great to keep those goals alive ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Last thing from me is just to invite everyone out for a drink or two this evening. Doesnโ€™t matter if youโ€™ve been with us for 8 years or 8 days. All are welcome. The captains have already been plugging the evening on the network this week. Itโ€™s nothing official just a gathering of a few stormies for a drink or two and a pre Christmas catch up hopefully with those we havenโ€™t seen for a while. Totally understand itโ€™s a very busy period so plenty wonโ€™t be able to make it. If you can โ€“ Meeting time is 7pm onwards in union rooms. Plenty of great memories from this year to discuss so I hope to see as many of you that can make it as possible. Donโ€™t forget your Christmas jumpers!!

Merry Christmas Storm ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿผ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ’œโšก๏ธ
