GROUP WARM UPS

We have now been running group warm ups for several weeks and they are proving popular. So why do we promote these short sessions prior to your run?

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ whilst leaders will take you through a short warm up, it may not be sufficient to get you fully warmed up, especially in winter months.

πŸ’œ your heart will benefit! A warm up increases your cardiac output and respiratory volume (basically aids breathing)

πŸ”₯ increasing body temperature raises the temperature in muscles, which allows muscles to contract and relax (reduce strains)

β›‘ minimises the overall risk of injury

🦡 improves load distribution in your joints

Our warm ups will gradually increase intensity prior to your run. A coach/leader will try and offer a warm up at each of our runs. Do listen out around 10-15 mins before the start.
