GROUPS - NAME CHANGES EFFECTIVE 7TH JANUARY

28 Dec 2018 by Tracey Mudford #

At this club we strongly believe in supporting, motivating and inspiring, whichever group you decide to run with on a STORM night, we want to ensure you are looked after and in the right group.

In response to feedback in the recent Storm runner’s survey and to make the choice of group easier we have simplified the names to signify the mileage completed within the hour run (this includes warm up and cool down time). You will see these new groups on the App from 7th January onwards.

Leaders will advise you to move up or in some cases down, this is for your personal development. If you do not wish to move up, that is absolutely fine. We are here to help and make running fun, not beast and put people off.

Be honest with yourself. You will enjoy your STORM nights a lot more, by running in adequate groups. If you push too soon, too much, you will break and fall out of love with running.

8’s – 8 miles

7’s – 7 miles

6’s – 6 miles (If numbers are large enough for two groups then a 6 mile and a 6.5 mile group will be offered at the evening run)

5’s – 5 miles (if numbers are large enough for two groups then a 5 mile and 5.5 mile group will be offered at the evening run)

4’s – 4 miles (if numbers are large enough for two groups then a 4 mile and 4.5 mile group will be offered at the evening run)

3’s – 3 miles

Beginners – this is the most important & valuable group. Leaders will work on a variety of exercises & techniques to improve strength, stamina and up your confidence.

All leaders are different, and any running night and venue will change.

The most important thing is that any runners wishing to attend runs, sign in via the app. This will give me a picture of how many to expect and what leaders to assign to certain groups.

I hope this explanation helps 🙂
